About this district

Charlottenburg is situated in the west of Mitte and Schöneberg, in the north of Wilmersdorf and is part of the administrative district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Charlottenburg is considered a middle-class and wealthy district and was named by Friedrich the first after Queen Sophie-Charlotte. Charlottenburg is often associated with the City West around the so-called Zoo and the famous shopping street on the Kurfürstendamm. The world-famous Charlottenburg Palace, the most important palace complex in Berlin, is also widely regarded as its figurehead. Charlottenburg also has a lot to offer away from the big names. In a variety of green areas, you can relax away from the hustle of the city. Its residents are mixed and give life to the cityscape in an extraordinary way.

Charlottenburg is connected to regional and long-distance traffic by its two large train stations, and you can also quickly get to the rest of the city via the main-line of the S-Bahn or with four lines of the U-Bahn. Living in an apartment in Charlottenburg means living in a diverse and attractive area: with the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on the Breitscheidplatz, the Zoo Palast Cinema or the Deutsche Oper. Here, culture and history blend into a unique place to live. In addition to Ku’damm, there are also shopping opportunities in the Bikini Berlin mall.

Charlottenburg also has a lot to offer from a culinary point of view: there are countless edgy restaurants, elegant cocktail bars and always something new to discover. It’s also a good area to cycle, there is for example a beautiful bike path that runs along the south bank of the Spree. In addition, it is not far to the ICC exhibition center, on which the Berlin radio tower stands, the little brother of the television tower on Alexanderplatz. The Berlin99-tip: within a few minutes you are at the Berlin Olympic Stadium – home of the Hertha BSC, Berlins famous football club.
